Past concerts

Grand Concert Charity, 8th March 2008

There wasn't an empty seat in the house for a charity concert in the Guildhall, Cambridge in support of the Mayor of Cambridge's charities. We played a selection of light classical music, ranging from "Finlandia" and "Spartacus" to "The Chit-Chat Polka" and "The Waltzing cat", and selections from musicals such as "My Fair Lady" and "Easter Parade". We were joined by The Chesterton Choral Society, who sang various pieces including "The Rose of England" and Mozart's "Ave Maria".

40th Anniversary Concert, 17th March 2007

To celebrate our 40th anniversary we performed at St George's Church, Cambridge. As ever the programme was varied containing works such as "The Dambusters", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and Handel's "Water Music". After the concert there was a party for members of the audience and orchestra members past and present.

Marshall's Family Fun Day, 13th June 2004

As one of three orchestras and bands invited to play at Marshall's Family Fun Day, we performed a range of popular pieces for the friends and families of Marshall's employees. Music included "Star Wars", "The Big Country", "Kiss Me Kate", "Moonlight Serenade" and "Best of the Beatles".

30th Anniversary Concert, 28th March 1998

Celebrating our 30th anniversary we performed in the Zion Baptist Church, Cambridge where the music included "The Marriage of Figaro", "Peter and the Wolf", "Spartacus" and "Porgy and Bess".

25th Anniversary Gala Concert, 28th November 1992

Celebrating our 25th anniversary we performed in St.Luke's Church, Cambridge. Music played included "Schubert's Unfinished" and "Kismet", and our President at the time, Ian Wallace, sung a Victorian drinking ballad and 2 verses from "The Road to Mandalay".

Our conductor, George Dobinson was also the Solo Pianist for "Legend" by Robert Docker.
